 Possible Reason For "Freezing" and Slow Downloads After having wrestled with my computer for the last 2 weeks and having deleted and re-downloaded Limewire several times due to problems with it freezing up... I think I might finally have the answer!!!  I was simply sharing TOO many files. 21,000 to be exact... and it would seem that it was too many. I have now cut that down a bit and eveything is running smoothly again.  |

 Wow yes that is a lot. And it would slow the program down. Also keep in mind having too many incomplete files has a similar affect; Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link) It seems the faster the computer & higher overall abilities, the better it seems to handle larger quantities of shared files. I noticed this after upgrading to a new computer earlier in the year. |
