Maximum Downloads?
 

I have been looking for a program which would not cripple my machine and now I seem to have found it in Limewire. Unfortunately there appear to be grave omissions (or the instructions are not clear).

I have altered my "Maximum Downloads" from 5 to 25 and 15 and now 17 (so there wasn't a 5 in the number) but the program continues to just download 5.

I do not appear to be able to force a start on any that are queued.

I have 5,336 files in my "share" directory and have noted uploads going on the whole time. Unfortunately my share ratio with Demonoid is dropping?

Are you d/ling torrents or regular files off LW? Are you using Pro or Basic?

Yes I am downloading torrents mostly form DEMONOID since they are the best when it comes to searching and isolating english. When I tried to download LM searched files I got "Garbage" since whatever I search for appears to end up as some sex file, consequently I now no longer use the "search" function.

Since there has been a near total lack of replies to this problem I have had to go back to using utorrent which lets me choose to stop unresponsive downloads and helps to keep my Ratio with Demonoid up. Also with the latest upgrade they appear to have at least partially solved the memory grabbing/bandwidth problem they had.

There is no way to increase the number of simultaneous torrent downloads in LW.

LW has many problems with the world of torrents. Using uTorrent or Vuze (used to be Azureus) is a much better way to go. uTorrent eats up my bandwidth, so I switched to Vuze.
