Hello!
If you are all using ADSL or Cable broadband check with your ISP that a Firewall is not included in the service. Some ISP's do have a Firewall enabled at their servers for their customers security this service usually costs a little extra like $5 a month and there should be a way to cancel that extra service I did that a year ago and I am able to share files which by the way is 5000 and 14GB in size these days and I am adding about 20 files a week that I share.
Dell recommends an upgrade to XP professional if you are using XP home edition and that is because XP home has to many limitations if you are a good or expert user of your computer.
If you are a Mac OS X user make sure that you are not using the latest version which has some bugs in it instead try to find the previous version and also make sure that you by accident have not installed the MRJ 2.2.5 in the wrong place because that installer usually have a tendency to default to the partion/System Folder with OS X on it but it does not belong there. If you have done that uninstall MRJ from OSX and then reinstall MRJ on the MAC OS 9.X System Folder by specifying it in the Switch disk option in the MRJ installer.
