Default "Unable to load downloads"

After I load up several files to download and if they don't complete when I exit LW, the next day when I turn it on (or later), all the incomplete files will not load and I get an "unable to load downloads" message. The files are still there in the incomplete folder, but they won't link into the LW program anymore. Any way to fix this? Any way to retrieve those files anymore?
Thanks.

I suspect it's because LW is not closing down properly when you close it. Go to Tools > Options > System Tray & make sure LW is set to close immediately.

You can go to Library window, select incomplete folder, select all incomplete files whilst holding down SHIFT key, press Resume button. They will go back to downloads window but initially show zero %. If they restart downloading they will show their previous download %.

I recommend: Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link) so LW reacts faster & get rid of possible fake files trying to crowd your connection.

Default I have a similar problem with a twist

When I go to reload my downloads from the incomplete folder after I have an internal error and get the "cannot reload downloads" message, I find those with a previous partially complete download % are not shown at all in the incomplete folder. Yet, if I go to the incomplete file where they are kept in my documents those with partially complete %'s are there. I have had this happen to me many times so far and lost hours of download time and precious files in the process. How can I retrieve these missing partial DL's and restart them again?
