OMG I am soo mad... I was browsing around PerezHilton.com and saw an article about my ISP (pretty strange)... here is an excerpt from the article:

"The Federal Communications Commission found on Aug. 1 that Comcast had improperly blocked peer-to-peer programs like BitTorrent that are used to share video and other files."

Could this have been why it wasn't working? I did end up fixing my problem, thanks to the troubleshooting of the link you posted.
