This is the dialog box I keep getting now EVERY time I click download for any song.

"Limewire is unable to obtain license for this song. Would you like to download it anyway?"

And I even just checked on songs I have ALREADY downloaded and played, and this box comes up on those as well.

What in the hell did I do wrong?

Check and see if you have the lisence warning ticked...
Go to Tools > options > Searcing > Lisence Warning and make sure the box is not ticked and select apply...

Is Gnutella another download/sharing program? Is it free, is it efficient?

Yes lots of Gnutella programs. LimeWire is simply the most popular one. Other one I'd recommend is Phex but the interface is not as simple looking to use as LW.
