verification issues

yo im running vista with limewire 4.18.3 and every time i attempt to download something, it ends up completeing the DL at 100%with 0kbs. instead of verifying the content, the downloads just sit there at 0kbs and 100%. all i can do is preview about halfway before it is done with the preview. so how do i make it verify manually? pausing and resuming as well as clearing the DL list and starting over ends the same way... help me verify my content yo.
