100% download but only 1 second of song

Hi, I'll give my computer details at the end of the question. I have sucessfully downloaded a number of songs, I only do them one at a time & it usually takes less than a minute. Now I press download & it apears OK- 98,99,100% then 2%, 3% then complete. once it got to 14% & once 30% before saying complete. I go to My Documents & rest the cursor over the song, it says the song & 3 or 4 Mb or whatever but the duration says only 1 second, & sure enough if I double click & press play I get 1 second of silence(probably the lead in time anyway) - HELP!! I'm running XP with SP3 update & the only firewall I know of is the windows one with LW as an exception. Ram is 430Mb installed memory & 512 Mb in slot A0. I have 63.83 Gb free space in my C drive. I'm running wireless broadband through a Maxon BP3-USB from home. I have LW 4.18.1 & Java 1.6.0_07 & my IP is Telstra Bigpond in Australia. The LW test came up OK, & virus protection is AVG free & windows only. I was going to update to LW Pro but I need to sort out this problem first. Sorry if I've already sent this but it came up "not connected" so I don't think it went.

Sounds to me something like mp3 Bit-Rates Versus File Sizes (click on link). Such files are spammed across the network in an attempt to stop copyright sharing of files.

Whilst Bitzi might not have the file, it's not a bad idea to at least check to see if any reports have been made about the file How to use Bitzi Web Lookup to see if it's ok.

So looks like you may need to choose an alternative download in your search results & download it again.

Yeah, I now notice if I pick a download from only 1 or 2 hosts I get it but of course much slower, if I get 7 or 8 hosts or more it doesn't seem to come through. I'll keep going & let you know how it goes
