Try to rename the file's extension to it's original extension.

Angry files saved as limewire docs

The extension after the file name is already ".sit" but the document type is LImewire document, not a StuffIt document. So how do I open those files? When I click on them it opens Limewire and then nothing else happens. So how do I open those files?

1. Go to folder options (On win98 it's View->Folder Options in Windows Explorer and on other windowses it's Tools->Folder Options).

2. Go to file types
3. Try to find the .sit file. If it's in the list:
a) If you use XP then click Change... Then "Select the program...", and select your program.
If you use other version then click edit... select the action in bold, click edit...
b) Select your new program

I dunno. Sorry. But you can try to open the application that is supposed to open these files. Maybe there is an option to maintain file associations or maybe you can select which files you want it use.

Drag the .sit file onto the StuffIt Expander icon.

For .dmg files use the Mac OS X version of DiskCopy.

I've had the same problem. I tried unstuffing, restuffing and unstuffing again but the program still says it's a limewire document and it takes me to limewire when i double click on it.
It would be nice if limewire provided answers to problems rather than just let us collectively complain.
