Just check your lisence warning... Go to Tools > Options > Searching > Lisence Warning and make sure the box is not ticked and select apply... If that does not help try going to your Connections Tab in limewire, if it's not showing up go to Veiw > Show/Hide and make sure the connection tab has a tick next to it... Then click on the Hosts and remove them and let Limewire search for some more... (try to take note of the hosts IP numbers if the same ones keep re-appearing add them to your host filter...) ;) Tools > Options > Filters and select the Host Filter and add these IP's into it and select apply... Try installing PeerGuardian, it will help keep the fake hosts out...Remember to enable PG just before you start limewire up...;) Phoenix Labs » PeerGuardian 2 If you're using Vista, there's this PG2 Beta available for Vista users. PeerGuadian 2 for Windows Vista beta released - Phoenix Labs PeerGuardian 2:Manual - Phoenix Labs Wiki Another thing if you are using limewire 4.13 and later you can apply this hostile list...This will block known fake IP addresses... I'm having the same problems and have tried everything mentioned. Someone please help!!:( No matter what I am searching for, it yields no results. |
Do you have a full connection to the network ??? In other words do you have green/blue or red bars and how many ?? |
1 green, 4 red bars....and I have tried connecting at work and at home with the same results. |
That means you're not connected to the Gnutella network. ;) Can you post these details for 'each' of your locations of using LW: System details - help us to help you (click on blue link) :) |
1.Windows Vista Premium 2.I use Windows Defender 3.958MB 4.80GB 5.Cable 6.Linksys WRTG wireless router 7.home 8.limewire 4.18.6;java 1.6.0-oem 9.Charter 10.your test worked 11.yes through a wireless router;other computers also have limewire that used to work and now does not. 12.been using lw for a few years 13.no brick wall 14. not sure what that means 15.micro trend;windows firewall 16.USA 17.lw stopped working on all our computers and we upgraded, I think to 4.18.3 version? and it worked for a few weeks, then it stopped working again and we upgraded to 4.18.6 and it has not worked since on any of the computers. overall we have not changed anything other than upgrading limewire, perhaps when the upgrade happened there is something we are not doing?? not sure...just need help thanks.. |
One problem I see is your router. The Linksys WRTG has buggy firmware and they never repaired it properly. ie: UPnP mode does not work reliably. (UPnP mode is where a program sends a request to the router to open ports for it.) The best answer to the wrtg is port forwarding. (There is a 3rd party firmware fix for the Linksys wrtg however it's not recommended for beginners.) Have you tried resetting your router? |
I got it fixed.....thanks....... |
thank you for all your help and support xxx |
