i have a Quad-Core AMD Processor, but i tried downloading Java a lot of times, but it still doesn't work, could anyone tell me a link where i can download it correctly, on java it said jre-1_5_0_11-windows-amd64.exe, i tried a lot of times to find that thing but still doesn't work

Are you getting any error message when you try to install Java?

1.5.0_11 is an old version of Java that we sometimes recommend if people are having real problems with the latest versions. Have you tried installing the latest update (6 update 7)? Are you using the JRE offline installer (the online installation may give you problems - offline installer is bigger but maybe a bit less likely to have corruption/installation problems)?

Use the JRE offline installer. Remove any other Java versions installed on your computer, before you download the latest update.

Same thing - use the JRE offline installer, remove other Java versions installed before installing this one.
