Transfer Torrents out of Limewire Hey folks, I have an easy question. I am downloading a VERY large torrent with limewire. It is 30% done, but I have been downloading it 24-7 for almost a month now. Since I started the download, I have learned that Limewire isn't the best for torrents, and it shows with an increasingly slow download speed... like 24kB/s. I was wondering if there's any way I can transfer the incomplete files into another torrent program, (like bittorrent). I have tried it and it downloads MUCH faster than limewire. But I have already downloaded 50+GB of my big file. I don't want to lose it! Thanks for any help -Chris |
I figured out the answer to my question myself today. Turn off Limewire. Crank up BitTorrent. Open the torrent with BitTorrent. When asked where to save the file, use the corresponding directory in limewire's "incomplete" folder. BitTorrent will then verify the contents of the downloaded file, and resume the download where limewire left off. My download speeds have nearly quadrupled as a result. I hope this helps somebody! -Chris |
