![]() Hello, this is my first post and say Hi to all members. Sorry in advance if i do some mistake in the way I do my posting. I am using Lime Wire 4.18.8 Java 1.6.0_10 and Vista is my operating system. I am using Lime Wire for almost a month now and never had any problem since two days ago where after a download of more than 500MB download with some files reaching up to 90%, on my next connection the next day the files went down to 1% and 6% without any reason. Scanned my computer for eventual viruses but no threat. Connected to Lime Wire and the files start redownloaded from the begining. Did a preview on the files and got the confirmation of the loss. Exited Lime Wire and opened the incomplete files, and at my surprise, the files are intacte like before the loss. Is the download redownloading the same Kb or is it downloading new ones and what will happen when they will verify the file at the end. Is there anything I can do to correct it??? Saw a similar posting regarding problem with download progress but it is not the same situation. Thanks |

![]() Is the file 100% complete if you watch it? It's a video right? Does it have all parts within it from start to finish? It suggests LW has detected a corruption in the file & is attempting to re-download the corrupt or missing parts. Similar to this http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...ss-status.html & related link I posted there. ![]() |

![]() Thanks very much for your reply. After reading another post of yourself regarding download percentages going backwards why?, I figured it out that LW is trying to redownload the corrupted files. My files are not 100% complete. Some part of the videos are missing. What I do not understand is out my five downloads, all of them have got many KB in lost for corruption. I could understand that one or two files could be corrupted but not all of them. Please can you clarify my on that. And presently I have one file continuing downloading but remaining stuck at 92% but still continuing downloading and the figures in the lost for corruption is increasing. Same situation for the others files at respectively 20 32 44 and 9. Should I stop them and forget about the files or there is maybe a chance to succeed? Really appreciated that you are taking of your time to help me out. Thanks once more Last edited by baboun; November 20th, 2008 at 06:26 PM. Reason: keyboard typing mistake |

![]() Mylord, (there is a nice song of Edith Piaf with this title, since you are speaking many languages, should not be a problem) Sorry to bother you again, but I am getting discouraged with the download to the point that I am wondering if it is worth to be continuing using LW. I cancelled the previous downloads and forgot about them. Then tried new ones and for the first batch of four downloads no problem. They went fine. The second batch of four downloads are all stuck to 92, 50, 43 and 33%, they are continuing downloading and they increase by 1% and then decreases back. The entire download is gone in lost for corruption since two days and the progress is stuck to the same position playing YO YO. I have noticed that this happens every time I am downloading a Japanese movie (Night24), is there a relation of cause and effect?? Is it possible that these files are corrupted and are affecting the other downloads??? Is there also a way to locate one specific file, because they are not appearing in the search with any of the key words contained in the title of the file? One last question and this maybe a strange one to you: Can you guide me regarding some questions that I have about ARES? Thanking you again and if I can be of some help to you (certainly not on LW matters) then please let me know. |

![]() I have no previous experience with Ares. Edith Piaf, I actually share some of her songs. ![]() hmm sounds to me like something is definitely wrong. Make a note of all your LW Option settings, then try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html It may be corrupt preferences that are the problem. BTW did you try using Bitzi lookup for those particular files? How to use Bitzi Web Lookup |
