Torrent Download question I am using torrent files for downloads for the first time. They seem to be working, but nowhere near the download speed I would have with that many hosts. I have 8 hosts downloading at about 17kb. If that were a .mpg file I'd be up in the triple digits. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or something I can change to get better download speed? My setup is for cable speed internet, 2G ram, XP. Thanks. |

I think the Majority of us here would agree that using LW as a Torrent Client is a Joke. So Using a Real Torrent Client would be suggested. Many Torrent Trackers have Banned LW because there is no way to Seed the Torrents once D/Led with LW, so it appears only to be a Leeching Client. This may be the reason why you are getting these horrible results which will never change as long as LW stays on this Dead End Torrent Path. Here is a Thread that has some good info on Other Torrent Clients and a Guide that may be Helpful. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...wnloading.html Last edited by Remoc; November 28th, 2008 at 09:29 AM. |

Thank you for being so fast to respond. I actually had one of the torrents I got from Demonoid grab some speed, but the others were sorta hosed. I will try to grab another torrent app. thanks also for the thread about torrent basics, that was VERY helpful, I guess I'll have to cram on the subject so I'll understand terms like 'leeching client' |
