Unhappy downloading files that BITZI says are "dangerous/misleading"

hi, i have been searching stuff and looking up the files with BITZI and pretty much everything ive looked at so far says its dangerous or misleading. is that really true that its dangerous. some of them they say are spam, others are fake. how could they all be like that?? what are the consequences of downloading them anyway??
thanks

ps, i did download a CODEC package which helped make a bunch of movies viewable, but there were a few files that still wouldnt open. especially the case with ITunes files. whenever i try to open a movie in itunes nothing happens.

Lots of bad files are shared. Some are shared to sabotage p2p & some are shared because people aren't aware that the file they're sharing is a fake or infected.
Virus thread: Typical virus spam file sizes - Make a note of them (click on blue link to see)

Fake files showing up in search results

If you were to download a file that was marked on Bitzi as dangerous or misleading, you'd take the risk of downloading an infected file. You might just find you've downloaded a file that won't play, but then again you could end up with a virus. I don't think it's worth the risk!!

Try varying your search terms. Look for artist or album name rather than song title, or actors' & director's name rather than movie title. Try the 'All Types' search. Try files with 10 sources or less, or files with a single modem source.
Always make sure that you're using a good antivirus (AV) program. Keep it updated & use it to scan all files that you download - before you open them.

iTunes will only play certain formats. Try VLC player. It's free & has codecs installed to play most file types. There's a link for download here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/tips-t...p3-fixers.html

Don't have more than 1 codec pack installed at a time or you'll run into problems.
