TrojanDownloader

Every time I try to download a song, Windows Live OneCare detects TrojanDownloader and asks me to delete the file. I can't seem to find the source of the problem.
Thanks in advance.

Many files 'pose' as songs, but are not really. See Virus thread: Typical virus spam file sizes - Make a note of them (click on blue link to see)

Viruses are posing as songs now with exactly the same size of files as the real music files listed side by side. Some list large numbers of downloaders available also like 20, 30, 50 etc. It is impossible to tell at this time what is infected by a virus at this time.

This latest trojan horse virus found on many files here at limewire December 2nd is a very destructive virus that nearly shut down my PC. I have the latest Symantec Corporate edition who told me that they did not have a successful combat for it until the next day.

I have the same problem. Can't download any song without this trojan advertizing. Don't know how to fix the problem. Obviously, I suppress the download. Beautifull, I bought Lime Wire Pro for the monkeys!

Put your security on low mode. I'm sure it has levels of control. ;)

I have exactly the same problem... Incomplete download... my antivirus Nod32 detects a threat - a variant of WMA/Tojan downloader etc says that it's a file mofified by Limewire exe. I've reinstalled the program so many times but every song I download is followed by this virus threat message so I never get any downloads !! Help !

Lord of the Rings December 27th, 2008 03:59 AM

I thought Nod32 was out of date years ago. AFAIK they stopped working on that program years ago.

trojan threat

thanks for reply. Nod 32 is alive and kicking. I don't think the problem is with the antivirus - I had Nod 32 on another computer without this problem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it has no effect. I'm able to search, select and download but at the end the warning is displayed and the file (songs in most cases) are quarantined. No idea what to do ??
