Low speed download

I've been using Limewire for about one year and for the last half year or so I've been using it to download variuos movies and such.
So I thought that upgrading to PRO might improve the download speed, but i was wrong... Since I got PRO I've hardly can get by using LW, it's so slow..
Im using windows XP latest updates, cable uplink 24 mbit/s, 2 gb ram.

Have to say that i have LW Basic on my laptop and it works fine there...

What shall I do? Starting to regret getting the PRO version.
