Default File Corrupted

While downloading some movies, I will occasionally get a file corrupted window and it will ask if I want to canel it or not. I have always canceled them when I got the window asking me if I wanted to cancel them because they are corrupted, but I don't know exactly what it means by the file is corrupted; I had always assumed that they were trojans or had viruses. It would be helpful if anyone had any heads up on exactly what a corrupted file is & means, and whether or not it is ok to continue the download or not. Thanx

Check out this thread for more info: what does it mean if the file is corrupted?

Also, try another search for the same files. Find a single modem source & download the file from them. Is that any different?

Don't forget to check files with Bitzi before download.
How to use Bitzi
Even though audio files aren't often rated, if the files are crappy then there might be some info about them.

When LW detects a corruption, it doesn't necessarily mean that the file's infected, or even that it's unplayable. But there are lots of infected files on the network! So you need to make sure that you're using a good AV program. Keep it updated & use it to scan every file that you download - before you open the file

Extended Tooltips can help you detect such things also & also to see 'how much' of a file is lost due to corruption; http://www.gnutellaforums.com/lounge...tml#post335192 post by Lotr
