omg that's a long time ago. lol Of course back then up until 18 months ago, LW Pro support was only for 6 months. After 6 months your email automatically drops off their system. LW do now offer an extended version of 12 months but that's not the default but an alternative.

If you purchased LW & the site said anything about lifetime membership, etc. then unfortunately it was a con site; a scam site. So many of them around.

No of course not. Simply get LW Basic. It's free !!!! ... Why pay for Pro? Both programs look identical & if you were sitting in front of either, I"m sure it would take a long time for you to tell the difference, if ever. lol

Lime Wire » Download LimeWire ... erm what do you not understand? Have you heard of Microsoft or Adobe giving LIFETIME free upgrades to most recent version for any of their programs? If you really did purchase LW pro from the official site in the first place & IF you read the payment conditions, you'd know the support only lasts for 6 months. Read it now if you forgot to before paying 5 years ago.

If Pro is the same as basic why do they push Pro...also I have heard of unlimited updates I get them through Slysoft for anydvd. so I am not unrealistic for expecting this. You may be right about what may have been written five years ago but I am not expecting free upgrades just free updates as microsoft and many other companies provide as they work bugs out and make their programs more efficient

Not for Microsoft software programs such as Word. If you were using Office 98, they would not give you a free upgrade to Office 2004. They might have updates for Office 98 or whatever. That's what I meant. This is normal for internet software companies.

As for scam sites advertising via google & other means ... yes there are many, many of them illegally selling software in breach of copyright. If it were Microsoft or Adobe instead of LW they would not be so brave. Otherwise they'd be not only sued multi millions but put behind bars very quickly. How many websites in USA do you know of where you can get Microsoft or Adobe programs which are not from the official company. LimeWire doesn't seem to have quite the same push due to lack of funds for legal issues. However they have closed down many illegal sites offering so-called unlimited LW pro.

That's just how it is. And the LW pro pay page has not changed that much in past 5 years since I've seen it. Some alternate offer options but still the default offer of Pro for 6 months support & updates.

LW Pro helps support the company to provide LW Basic for free. Originallly LW Basic had adverts in it to help pay for it. They removed those when Pro was introduced.

The advantages of Pro are subtle, not major.
