According to one of the LW staff:

Looks like that message could apply to a number of unusual error conditions relating to saving a file - for example, if the user doesn't have permission to create files in the directory where they tried to save the file, or if the directory is removed between the time the user selects it and the time the download starts.
So maybe make sure that you save to an account with administrator privileges, or try saving your downloads to a different location.

In LW 5 you might find that different file categories are being saved to different locations - check in tools > options > downloads. Are all files being downloaded to one folder, or are different categories being saved to different folders?

In LW 5 if you go to Tools > Advanced Tools you'll see whether you're behind a firewall or not & if behind a firewall, whether you support firewall transfers

Thank you Birdy it was exactly that, my problem. I was trying to D/L music files to a folder that didn't exist. D'oh!

I'm just exposing my own stupidity because it might help others.

Take care y'all.
