Limewire downloading problem :(

I had Limewire previously and as i didn't know how to install the updates i just uninstalled the whole limewire and deleted all files to do with it.
I then went to download it again and i keep getting an error message when i go to install it saying ' you still have an older version of Limewire running please close it and try again'. I have checked in the uninstalled part on my laptop and it isnt there ... i have gone into C drive and program files and made sure all Limewire files have been deleted and i have searched Limewire in my laptop search part and it is showing that i have no Limewire files at all and it isnt in my System tray.
I have restarted my Laptop several times and deleted Java just incase it had something to do with that as someone mentioned it to me.
I dont know what to do?!? Can anyone help?

I'm quite new to all this so if ive posted this in the wrong place or anything sorrryyy...

Thanks :) Dicozza

I was offered to upgrade to LW 5.1.2 last week some six months before my subscription expired. The problem is that the downloading could go on for ever and the download status progress gets stuck after a while. Too bad I got rid of my older version that worked fine. Now I'm using eDonkey and I won't certainly renew my subscription if a solution to this particular problem is not found

You don't mention which version of LW you were using previously. But you can easily revert to 4.18.8 Pro by clicking on the 'Get LW PRO Classic' link on the left side of your personal download page:)

Saving your Pro installers would be the way to go - then you can reinstall older versions whenever you're not happy with an update.

I did what you advised me to do: revert to 4.18.8. That was good advice.Thanks. Now my LW downloads normally.
I don't know what's wrong with 5.1.2 and what may cause this downloading problem when you see the download status bar stuck for ever at say 6 or 8% although the downloading is apparently going on. Note -if you can retrieve my older previous messages- that's exactly about the same problem I wrote some 6 months ago and also I'm not the only one who complained about that in the forum.
