Default lost my old files

Just a message as I logged on that LW could not load my old incomplete files. I went to incomplete folder and h resumed. NOw all I get is locating sources and no progress. Some files were almost complete but now no progress. There were some big files and it seems now i have to start over. This isn't the first time this has happened and it sure is a pain to have to start over downloading files that are 500 to 800mb in size.

Once the files start to download again, they will show their previous download percentage, but in meantime will show zero %. I had same happen to me 2 days ago. Just a matter of searching same topics again to find the sources.

The files show up but it says locating files or awaiting files. I can search for the same file and it will show in the search but it does not acknowledge that I have started downloading and it still says awaiting files.

hmm ... not sure. It might not be absolutely identical in download hash as the other, despite title & file size. Try one you know has a low download percentage, once you find it in search results, cancel it & select one from search results. Although even if you did select a larger one you could resume from incomplete folder, just prefer to experiment with the smaller ones just in case something more severe has happened in the corruption of your download preferences.

Awaiting sources means you have attempted resuming the file. Sometimes just leaving it to its own efforts to find sources whilst doing searches for sources sometimes does the trick. But, either way.

Which version of LW are you using? Which operating system version?

I find that 'eventually' my incomplete files will start downloading at some point. Though that might not be for weeks or months in some cases.

Check your settings, Tools -> Options -> Saving, Days to Keep incomplete files. Make sure this is a high number. Use a number like 9999 or similar.

When turning off LW, make sure it is totally turned off before turning off computer. Sometimes LW can be slow closing down (whilst writing to the prefs folder & stopping connections) & this corrupts the preferences ... thus loading problem for incomplete files when next starting up LW. ie: perhaps LW is not visible but is still closing down in background. Control-alt-del to bring up active programs will show you if it is still active. Perhaps even use the Disconnect feature from File menu for a couple minutes before closing LW. This is to help prevent this happening again.

It did it again. I gave up on my old files and started over and it happened again. One more time and I'm back to KAZAA
