how do i change file format

hey everyone, when i download music it downloads as a mp3 and my cd player wont play them properly in my car but it plays some other downloaded songs of a different format, was just wondering if you can change the format b 4 downloading so i can play it in my car from mp3 to whatever the other files are? any info would b much appreciated thanks so much

i have other cds that were downloaded off the same program and they play fine.
