What is the point....?? (hosts not staying online)

I'm getting really quite narked with those hosts who have a dial-up or sluggishly slow connection.... yet host big files.
Will you PLEASE appreciate that in order for people to download them, you actually need to stay connected for a decent amount of time....

From my experience, these hosts never seem to stay on long enough for anyone to download them in their entirety, so there you are stuck at whatever percentage for ever.... 'cos let's face it - you'll never get to see said host on-line again....

They're leeches too most of the time - which just makes it worse!

Quite frankly, it's pissing me off!

:mad2:

I would suggest using a Torrent client like uTorrent or Vuse for large files.

Are these Audio or Video files??

LW is ok for single files but for full albums or movies, the above suggestion might take away your frustration. :)

Thanks for your reply Remoc :)

It has to be said that I'm not au fait with torrents and the like....
Don't really understand them if I'm honest. :o

Heard lots about them, but when it comes down to it, having never 'used' them, I don't really know much....
They're audio files btw if that's any help....

Any elaboration in straight english would be much appreciated.
How do I use them and how would I benefit from using them?

I'm not thick. Far from it. I just lack specific knowledge :p

Torrents are much more of a fair share p2p. With Torrents you need to share back to keep a good share ratio. Some people filter out others with a very low ratio, and even Azureus slows your download speed down if your ratio gets quite low. lol :D I think that's cool. My share ratio is usually between 2-3 (shared back 2-3 times more than downloaded).
