99% downloaded but no further Am downloading an item with Limewire Pro. 99% of the item has downloaded successfully. But I cannot get it to complete. When I run the program it occasionally tells me that it is downloading from two or three sources, but that the volume of the download is 0%. Can I do anything to complete my download (which is an avi. file) |
Try restarting LW, that's fixed the issue for some people. Otherwise - which version of LW are you using? Unless we know which version you're using, it's hard to give advice. |
right click on the file as it resides in your queue and choose bitzi lookup...the symptoms you describe sound awfully like tactics used by the paid henchmen of the MPAA.... |
I have the same problem - my download has been sitting at 97% for about 3 months; tho the Limewire progress bar is green, there is absolutely no indication of traffic at all. Nnone of my downloads appear on the 'my library' page so I'm unable to follow Peerless' suggestion to right click and do a bitzi lookup. Is there any way to get this file moving again or do I give up? Vista Business, Limewire 5.1.2 |
But your downloads appear in your Download window right? Keep searching the topic, or similar topics. Browse the occasional user who has similar files. That also tends to help with later searches in my experience because it's broadening your search horizon by going through different distant ultrapeers. :) IF you are using LW 5, perhaps you could look at using the new LW 5.2 beta which shows the download window at bottom of screen all the time no matter which window you are viewing. ;) Just a thought. ;) http://www.limewire.com/download/betaversion.php |
Thanks for the response. I've just installed 5.2 Beta, but it has lost all my 'incomplete' downloads. Any idea how I can get them back? |
eeps. You sure they are all gone? LW 5.2 places them into a different location. The incomplete files are stored in a folder called Partial & is within the download folder. As for files being deleted, that is a possibility. LW 5.2 has a strong filter to delete spam. It apparently knows certain spam hash configuration & will delete the files upon completion of downloading. That's to prevent users being affected by certain audio or video files that have viruses imbedded within them. It's also to prevent those users sharing those files back to the network without realising. http://forum.limewire.org/showthread.php?t=6391 |
wow...finally people are admitting that spam/virii can be embedded in a media file... if the file has been deleted by this filter than it would appear as if my thoughts on the subject (i.e. fake files being supplied by the MPAA's 'enforcers') is correct...they've been using that tactic for a long time now... |
Are you Serious !! After how many years, the good 'ol LW Boys are making an attempt to actually do something to help their Money paying members by filtering nasties??? Hell must be freezing over. I may even try 5.2. one of these days. :wasntme: |
LOFR: I have no 'partial' folder within my limewire folder. I still have my 'incomplete' folder, tho. What should I do next? |
