Incomplete Searches?

Currently, I'm running LW 5.1.2 on WinXP.
I've been having this problem for a while now...but keeps getting worse.
Not only am I not finding any sources for stalled downloads, I can't find any new downloads.
When I try to search, LW comes up with nothing...not even files already in my library!
And now if I actually find something, when I click on it to download, it says I already have it in my library...but it's not in my library because it's one of my stalled downloads! And it still stays stalled even after being found in a new search!
AAGH! I'm starting to feel like Charlie Brown after Lucy gets him to try kicking the football...can't believe I keep trying the same thing and expecting different results! LOL
Any ideas?

If it says it's already in your library .. icon, then chances are it was spam. Some spam tricks LW into thinking the file was already downloaded; shows that icon. Virus thread: Typical virus spam file sizes - Make a note of them (click on blue link to see)

The reason for your search problems seems not totally uncommon. It's happened to me on & off. It usually lasts for a few days up to a week.

It might be due to ultrapeers you are connected to, but not necessarily that reason, that the ultrapeer(s) is not responding with sending search information off or returning it.
