Downloads stalled/incomplete - how to delete Running MS XP, LimeWire 5.1.3 Pro Cannot delete stalled and incomplete download requests from the "Show All" list. Tried deleting using the "X" to the right of each file. The item disappeared for the SHow All list but when I reopened LimeWire the files were still there. Next I uninstalled LW and re-installed but problem continues. Any help on how to delete, please? milhoux |
Right-click each one & choose Cancel. That will delete the incomplete file also. :) |
Same Here! This is exactly what I happened to me too. I just can't seem to delete the stalled downloads in LW program, even though there wasn't any incomplete file in the incomplete folder to start with. I tried what Lord of Rings said by just cancelling it, but it doesn't solve the problem. Next I tried reinstalling the LW program back and forth, from the LW 5.1.3 to the LW 4.18.8 and trying to delete at those 2 versions, but still it doesn't work. I tried resuming the stalled files but the files are not located anymore. When I search for it, it said that it doesn't exist anymore. I tried deleting the incomplete folder too. When I reopen LW program, the stalled downloads are still there. Sorry for making this a big fuzz. Can anyone help? Thanks. |
LW 5 'does' delete the incomplete file from the incomplete folder when you Cancel a download. Have you checked to see if in fact you are using the same Download folder, you may have two incomplete folders on your computer. Search incomplete & see if you find more than one. With LW 4, two choices of removing incomplete files. First you must cancel all the files from the download window. Then go to Library window, select incomplete folder & select all the incomplete files. Then press the Delete button. Other method after canceling downloads is to go to the incomplete folder & send them to trash. If these methods do not work, then chances are you have some kind of virus in your incomplete folder, else you are lacking computer Administrative permissions to delete the files. |
Thank you Lord of the Rings for your immediate response and concern. Unfortunately, the solutions you have suggested doesn't work. I have tried searching all incomplete folders, but none of them have the incompleted file. I tried file locate on the stalled download on LW, but it is located on a folder without any files on it. Totally weird... I have tried also deleting the incomplete folder. Every time I restart my computer or reinstall LW, the stalled downloads keeps coming back. I have to cancel it manually. Anyways, I appreciate your help Lord of the Rings. If you can still think of other solutions, please do. I still want to solve this problem. |
I got it! At last I got it! I just download new stuff, and while downloading I deleted the stalled downloads. In the process, I canceled a file being download. I also notice before that the recent download list keeps coming back too with the stalled downloads. I guess by downloading new stuff, it helped refreshes its memory. By the time I reopened LW, the stalled downloads are not there anymore. Whew! I would still like to thank Lord of the Rings for his immediate concern. Thank you. |
