![]() After a while (few requeries for a file I guess) the requery wait time goes beyond 8k sec. shouldn't there be a limit to this? This is used for not so popular files I guess (incrementing wait time) but I.M.H.O the way to hunt and bring rare content to the gnet is keep hunting as normal files (never increase the requery wait time if there's less then 1 host (that is busy). Then, when you "catch" the file and download it, there are already 2 copies of it... pepper_pusher *** Last edited by Lord of the Rings; March 8th, 2009 at 11:24 PM. ![]() I think the point of the increasing requery time is to keep from bombarding the network, or any particular client, with endless requests. It makes sense to me to increase the wait period after a few unsuccessful attempts, though I have to agree that 8k seconds is a bit ridiculous. I would think once every 15 minutes would be a reasonable compromise between overloading the network and missing an opportunity to get a file. |
