***Transition Problems in Resuming Incomplete DL with 5.2.13 *** Hello Friends, I was happily downloading a huge stuff using the previous version of LW (5.1.4) through weeks and then suddenly this new version update popped up and I unknown of future consequences and frustrations updated to 5.2.13. Since then my download speed has come down to just 1 KB/s, 1 P2P from the earlier 30 KB/, 65+ P2P.:bangh: Surprisingly my upload speed on that same download stuff has increased to 30KB/s connected to 8+ P2P connections. I don't know what it was earlier with 5.1.4. I am currently having 3 ultrapeers. Guys,Gals and Gurus please help me out? Please tell me whatever further information is required to solve this issue. Should we flag this to the Tech Support people? Warm regards, Swapnil Sahoo India. |
I am using Symantec anti Virus ( which i have already disabled, with no benefits so far!!) and Windows Vista SP1. The firewall already has the LW exception. |
Answered via PM. BTW You can still get LW 5.1 by choosing the Versions link & it will lead you there. :) |
Dear LoTR, Thanks a lot for the prompt feedback.:aweof: I tried downgrading to 5.1 but somehow it could not resume from the leftover DL. I guess we need to address this as well. Anyways ,As understood, this is a torrent file and not a gnutella network file. My specific questions are: (1)does a torrent download speed drastically reduces towards the end of the download. I guess the answer should be No. (2) I recently started playing Half Life series online using STEAM account. Would this have interfered with my download and internet connection to LW. (3) Why I am irregularly having the legendary "No internet connection" problem as soon after I upgraded to 5.2.18? Currently on my uploads page I see the below data: *** Connected to 14 P2P users, uploading at 36 KB/s -Ratio 0.00 *** Currently on my downloads page I see the below data: *** z hrs left , x GB of X GB (1 KB/s) from 5 P2P Users*** I have also done this: Tools-->Options-->Advanced-->Transfers-->Downloads --: Changed to " Don't allow more than *3* downloads at once." from 8. Unlimited bandwidth. Tools-->Options-->Advanced-->Transfers-->Uploads --:Changed to " Don't allow more than *1* uploads at once." from 8. Limited bandwidth to the least 10.94 Kb/s. (4) Why even limiting my upload speed to 10.94 Kb/s I am seeing speeds upto 36 KB/s . (5) Could I be made understood the concept of Torrent share ratio and its relation to the UL/DL speeds ? Thanks for the patience in hearing me out :) Eagerly waiting for your answers and to get the crux of this issue. Warm regards and thanks, Hungry Swapnil |
