Ouch! That is certainly not normal behaviour of LW. Sounds like a possible clash of drivers (possibly video card driver) with java. Any system details?

I'm not up on what LW requires for memory these days, but that 512K of ram is certainly sparse for any modern computer...

try out the following tool and see if you find any errors: Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

Have you checked for updates for your G-Force drivers?

Most times I've heard of that happening, it's been a driver clash or something similar. Generally video card related.

You could try adjusting the video card settings. Turn gaming or 3D acceleration off. With that brand of video card, I am aware such settings have affected online games also.

Edit: RAM did cross my mind. Glad you mentioned it Peerless. I have a bad ram chip on my machine. Bad RAM can also have same effect as you're having.

unfortunately I bet this user's machine will not have a BIOS that allows tweaking of the video aperature setting, which would probably be best set @ 64mb...

still, the crash as described indicates most likely a driver conflict, as bad RAM would most likely cause crashes with the general use of the machine...

download the following utility to find more about your machine which should help in the search for exact drivers for your hardware: |MG| EVEREST Free Edition 2.20 Download

its a great utility that enables you to keep track of various things going on with your machine
