Video file won't d/l past 35% I've been trying to d/l a video file for the last several days. The file is about 700 mb and it's been stuck at 35% for the last 3 days or so. Right now it's downloading at about 60 KB/s from 2 hosts and it still won't advance. I'm using Limewire 4.18.8 (because I keep hearing about problems with newer versions) and I'm running Windows XP. Any way I can fix this? I don't want to monkey with it to the point where I have to delete it because most of the time anymore video files will download to 90% or slightly above and then just stop dead and won't download anymore. This particular video was downloading at 2 KB/s for the longest time. |

Is the file a gnutella network file or a torrent file? My guess is a gnutella network file. My guess is LW may have detected some kind of corruption with the file & keeps attempting to redownload the corrupt parts. Go to your LW incomplete folder, open the file directly & see if it is complete or not. If yes, cancel from LW & simply rename the file ridding of the incomplete prefix. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...wards-why.html |

Yes, it's a Gnutella file (don't even know what to do with torrents). I opened the file last night shortly after I posted and it wasn't complete yet. It would freeze in certain spots while the time kept running (parts not d/l'ed yet, I'd imagine) but other than that, it played just fine. |

ok .. so it's not 100% complete. Try this, close LW, delete your LW preferences folder (but remove the downloads.dat file first from the preferences folder). Then open LW back up. LW will then create a fresh preferences folder. Close LW. Then replace the new downloads.dat file with the older one you saved. Instructions here in point #3 Fixes for Limewire (click on blue link) If that does not help, right-click the file in the download window & choose Change File Location, and choose a different partition if you have one. |
