Default searching for people with this file

Ohk i have recently moved, still using the same internet provider, but they came and install the internet thru the whole house and left me with their wireless router (yuck) before the move i had no problem downloading torrents... now i am getting "searching for people with this file" out of approx 20 attempts at different ones, i have only successfully downloaded 1, and none since then. i am using limewire 5.1.2 java 1.6.0_15 windows XP and my isp is MTS (in winnipeg manitboa canada) they left a siemens Gigasat SE567 so really the ONLY thing that has changed is the internet router, still the same isp and everything just the router. any suggestions? thanks a million

You should check to see if your router has UPnP abilities. Log into it & check your Firewall status. I suspect UPnP is listed there. Make sure it's enabled.
The log-in address should be 192.168.1.254 with admin as both name & password.

You 'might' need to port forward the device. If so, you need to do this first: Set up a Static ip Address: Setting up a static ip address
This above step must be done first.

Then follow these directions: Port Forwarding Limewire on the Siemens Gigaset SE567

I'd suggest you give LW a wide-ish port range.

Oh .. the LW sample image they use is for LW 4, for LW 5 see Manual port forward instructions & sample image

Something I forgot to mention, after doing the above changes to your router, depending on brand, since each has its own requirements, make sure you save the settings, and some brands you need to reboot the router. And I'd also advise you reboot your computer.
