How do you change an overly long song title?
 

I need to shorten the tile of a song and can't find a way to do it. What is the proper procedure? Thx

PC/Mac? Is the file on your computer, or waiting to dl? File properties? Right-click, Rename doesn't work?

Just after my post I figured out I was trying to make changes from titles resulting in a "Search" box. When using the correct Library box it did work by the usual "highlight the title" method. But to answer your question, the "rename" was in gray only. But this may have been from the incorrect area I was in as well. Thanks for response.

Yep, you can't change the filename on another's computer (via LW).

Thanks for the post, Blackhorse. And for clarity to others reading this string, not only can you not modify a song name on another's computer, it seems you can't modify even from your own computer unless you are in your "gross" library. I used the
"SEARCH" box to find the correct song, and tried to modify it while still in the "Search" mode list. That didn't work either. YOU MUST BE IN YOUR "MAIN" LIBRARY TO MODIFY A SONG'S NAME. I bring this up because sometimes, when people try to be helpful with a very long name outlining facts about the song, it blocks the ability to transfer that song to other "NON-LW" libraries available online, until you shorten the name yourself. Word to the wise.....
