.dmg files

i cannot seem to open a .dmg file! i have used every program
there is that could possibly open tese files including stuffit,
zipit ,disk copy, maczip, shrinkwrap.stuffit uggests that i use limewire,
how do i open files with limewire? ive tried the launch option and it doesn't
seem to do anything.
