Requiry sent, waiting.... About 95% of them time I try downloading anything it doesn't work. It gives me the message saying I am connecting to the IP address of the user, but it always fails after that. Almost always I then get the message requiry sent, waiting (x) where x is the time left. Once x gets to 0 it goes back up to a very high number and starts going back down. I tried tampering with the options, I disabled my firewall, and I added plenty of shared files so no one would block me as a freeloader but nothing works. What is the most likely problem? |
The host you were trying to download from disconnected from the network. |
Ahhhh... thanks that makes sense. This brings up a different question however. Is there someway that files can turn up in search results even if the owner of the file is offline? Several times I got back a result from a search that gave the requery sent, waiting.... message. However, when I researched the same file reappeared still giving the requery message. As the user can't be online according to you, why is his files still showing up in searches? |
The reason I gave is a likely reason; if you're still getting search results from that host then their connection isn't set to allow uploads. |
