all searches come up as winamp files need help to change this please
 

hi i do not have winamp anymore but all my searches come up as winamp files what do i do

You don't have it? Are you sure? Use your OS search function to look for winamp. Also see Setting default audio program

i dont have it because i unisntaled it the other day because i did not like it windows media player is better for me

Sorry the link I gave above was from the Limewire forum section but it does the same thing.

That's a mystery then. I'm thinking the default is still set to winamp. Audio programs love to make themselves default program after installation. Your Winamp prefs will still be on the computer also.

I am down loading win media player files from audio searches and then burning to cd. These will then not play in the car cd player. Do i need to download a different type file and if so how. Sorry very new to all this

1. Check the music files play ok on your computer before burning to CD.

2. Make sure you selected audio format to burn. Make sure it's not mp3 format.

3. Make sure you use CD-R disks, NOT CD-RW.

4. Try burning them at minimum speed your burner will allow. Some car players don't like cd's burnt at high speeds.

5. If still failure, try another brand of CD-R. Preferably a better quality brand.
