Downloads slow down or stop Hi, well this may be a simple fix or just some added information that I require. Basiclly I have cable internet and ever since I got it the following will happen when I go to download. The download will start off strong about 30kbs -25kbs, after 20 seconds it will count down all the way to 0kbs, I can have 8 download sources (8 hosts) but it will still remain at 0kbs, and after awhile it will jump up agian to 30kbs then count down agian and then if Im lucky average out at about 1 to 2kbs. Why is this??? Does anyone know? I've done all the things with my rounter, forced isp, forced a different port all the right things believe me. But I just dont get why I keep having intial good uploads and then nothing even with more users. Please help? :( |
Which version of BearShare are you using? Did you configure your firewall? |
Limewire 4.2.6 Pro and yes I confiqured my my firewall I have it allowing limewire and have disabled it at times to see if there was a difference and there wasen't. I read somewhere that it might have to do with the buffer?? But Im not entirely sure on what that is...well I have a general idea but dont know if I can do anything about it. Any help would be great :) |

Well what can I say, I went to the Limewire site, clicked on it's page that says Limewire forum and here I am. Dont know what else to tell you so...yeah. Thanks for your help, and condesending attitude :D |
1 Attachment(s) 1. Forum Rules (click here) 2. Limewire Forum sections So how the heck did you end up here. This is the gnutella forums not the Limewire forums. If you look around this forum caters for many gnutella programs. This is the BearShare Program section. And there's a Sticky at the top of this section which says ... (see image below) As a moderator it's my job to be hard on people who don't bother to do simple things like read the forum rules. All forums have rules & ask you to read them before anything else. This was also pointed out to all new members at registration time. Well I could leave your post here for Bearshare members & mods to answer who may know nothing about LW. I don't have a lot of your details to your problem to help. Are you using Linux, mac, windows 98 or 95, did you port forward your modem/router???? Where's the details? |
Actually this change is going to happen with LW at the top of the active programs section. Most forum heads have already approved but still awaiting a few others. Out of respect for them. I'm not sure why the announcement on that particular page is on the bottom. I'm not sure if I can change it. I'll look into it. (I think I already did look into it some time back.) BTW the idea of the Gnutella News & Gnutellium sections being put at the bottom of the list was purely a short-term trial. It isn't appropriate for it to be at the bottom. It is like an introduction section to the forums. Some change in the naming would be needed or/& another section added to house the various category sections. |
Sorry I meant Gnutella News & Gnutellium Forums (I mis-labelled.) Gnutellium Forums is like an intro term if you know what I mean. If you go to that section & see only a handful of sections that only represent gnutella issues on a broad front then the label isn't quite fitting. Gnutellium forums should also include the various gnutella program variations sections. |
