can i turn off brower so people cant browse through my files if yes how do i turn it off.

Go LW>Tools>Options>Chat and untick the "Enable Chat" function.
That should basically kill also the possibility to be browsed by others.....AFAIK.

I'm sure you're using a Mac,........not like most other "poor" folks with their Windows based machines.....

Besides, I guess my tip was wrong anyway, since the user has posted in the Bearshare forum.......Ooooops....... ......unfortunately, I do not have the settings panel of Bearshare in my head and can't check on it, but it must be somewhere under settings.......sorry for that......
