waiting waiting waiting can I ask what you mean by re-search? I have about 5 different versions of the same movie, I tried diff ones hoping that would work, each with over 100 hosts. All say exactly the same thing - waiting. That's why I was thinking bearshare is good for music but not movies. I have never had a problem before but this is weird. |

Stay away from files with hundreds of hosts. They are most likely faked files you will never be able to download. Try to choose files with some 10-20 hosts. With re-search I meant to search for the name of the file again, to see whether they show up in the search results. There is usually no problem with downloading movies using Bearshare. Whether LW or Bearshare or FW is better for downloading is hard to tell. Mostly it is a question of personal preference. I personally prefer Phex rather than Bearshare; though they are quite similar and good. My standard program, however, is LW, whereas I like to appearance of FW much more.

i have the same problem as this, and so do a lot of people looking through these threads, it is not just one or two files, it is almost all of them for a lot of movies - you can try to download every result on the page for a movie and your lucky if one downloads out of a few hundred and the it is a low quality cam version. it started since the new update for bearshare was released |

yeah its annoying when you download something and it turns out to be porn. generally if you click the little plus button and look down the list you can see that they have the files named as different things - or try searching hostiles list on this forum and using that. |

Two things I'd advise..... Before downloading a movie (especially the popular ones) check it with Bitzi: How to use Bitzi And secondly, after you've downloaded 5-10% go and preview it to see whether it is the file you want. If your media player has problems with unrendered file or with codecs, you can download and try the free VLC player which comes with built-in codecs and can play almost all mediam files: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
