 Bearshare Version 8, Downloads Won't Finalize....Windows XP Just got a new laptop, installed the latest version of Bearshare V8, and downloads will not finalize and complete. They get stuck on finalizing and freeze. What do I do? I have re-installed, and etc.?? What gives?  |

| first....you can curse yourself out for installing such cr@p on a brand new system... uninstall the externally controlled POS...do a system cleanup with a malware/spyware/etc leaner like adaware, spybot Search and Destroy, or SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition... then install this version: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...sabotaged.html make sure to read the whole thread for tips and advice... also you will probably HAVE to enable for forced UltraPeer mode to get connected to the network....

| only the expired beta version I linked to has the ability to force UP mode...and that's what's many times needed to get connected to the network for the first time... finalizing of downloads is not related to that.... not sure what could be causing downloads to not complete, unless they are fake files from hosts that are intentionally preventing completion (of nothing)
