spam & filters First, I'd like to see the ability to highlight a result and assign it to a 'spam' or 'junk' category (preferably with a right-click). Second, I'd like to see some online help or better explanations of the filtering system: for example, it isn't real clear how to implement the inverse of some of the filter conditions (i.e. DON'T show files less than the value entered as the minimum). Third, I've come across situations where several files of different sizes have the same name; being able to download all of them automatically with an appended "copy number" (foo(1).bar, foo(2).bar, etc.) would be nice :-) Finally, when I close one search, it would be nice if the next one on the list were automagically selected. None of these is anything that would stop me from using Plex; they're just things that would make using it easier/nicer. |
Would you like to create a better description of the filter-system in the wiki? http://wiki.phex.org http://wiki.phex.org/How_To_Contribute We're always searching for people who'd like to contribute, and it would be great to have a description of the filters. (inverse filtering is simply done by assigning no "case-condition", then assigning a consequence and the assigning an "except if" condition.) On the other ones Gregor should be able to give better answers than me... |
Filtering I'm willing to have a try at it, though I'm not sure how well it would turn out. Let me fiddle around a bit and see what happens... |
Great! Thanks a lot! And you can be sure, your contribution will have a lasting effect. That's one of the things I value myself about contributing to Phex. |
Using Filter Rules Okay, I've created a brief introduction to Phex filter rules, and how to use them: http://www.phex.org/wiki/index.php/Filter_System I included plenty (!!) of screen captures, and started out by using an example of wanting to search for music video files over a certain size, followed by showing how to further limit results to just videos. Also included brief example of filtering by words in the 'file' column. If something isn't clear, or I managed to confuse the heck out of folks, let me know and I'll be glad to tune things some more. |
I like it very much! There's only one thing which puzzled me for a moment: For filtering by keywords, you put the condition screenshot directly above the exception screenshot, so that I thought it was the condition screenshot after the addition of the keyword-condition and wondered why the button for the keyword condition wasn't selected. Aside from that it's very clear to me, but I've been using Phex for a few years now, so you might need to ask some newcomer (or just someone who never used Phex before), to get a second opinion :) For tuning, you could add some chapter titles to give the guide a bit more structure. Besides: I just also added your walkthrough at the description of the search screen: http://www.phex.org/wiki/index.php/F...ialog#See_also |
Please tell me how to eliminate generated spam sized 22k6 in *.wma or sized about 100 - 140k in *.mp3 with the same name as searched file and spam like 0x track x (where x is number between 1 and 20) in *.wma (protected content and license page often contains badware). And the same problem for me is video format *.mov.Please could you insert format filters like "disable *.wma files" ,"disable *.mov" or minimal filesize for *.mp3 filter? This spam makes searching annoying and reduces good results. |

Thanks.I didn't know Phex yesterday, now I can try it and then I'll tell you my results with Phex. |
