Previewing files Hi! Like everyone else, i'm running low, in disk space, and i was downloading a file. I was 99% when i watched a file preview. Phex created the folder phex.prefs.api.Settings@<some number>, which made my HD 100% full (0 bits!). Because of this i ended up with a corrupted file! :'( The file .phex/phex.error.log is full of "Error/phex.download.MemoryFile:: phex.common.file.ManagedFileException: write fails - Exception: phex.common.file.ManagedFileException: write fails" It's possible to disable the "phex.prefs.api.Settings" folder creation? |
The strange name of the preview folder is a bug. But Phex will still need to duplicates the file for preview to prevent access conflicts. Concerning your full HD... AFAIK with Java 5 it is not possible to easily determine the free disk space. Therefore I think we can't really address the full disk problem until we switched to Java 6. Java 6 is very new and I don't think we go through this any time soon, also we just switch to Java 5 recently. |

Java 5 doesn't have some some a facility for determining disk/partition size and availability, only java 6? Damn! Keep up the good work! |
