Default I need a quick translation.

I've tried Google and similar sites, but they all give me different answers, so I thought it'd be best to ask someone who speaks the language fluently.

Could some please translate, "Oh bright eyes!" for me? You know, from the poem. I'd really appreciate it.

I think you misunderstood, all I need translated is the sentence "Oh bright eyes!" Not the whole poem, or whatever.

I understood--but you wanted more than a quick googled translation.

For that a translator would need more of the context.

"Oh" would translate differently depending on tone. Tone needs the rest of the "poem"

"Gee, what pretty eyes" is different that "Oho! You see everything"

You mean like a quick search http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=e...G=Search&meta=

Meanings of phrases can vary depending upon metaphoric intentions or literal or ...

Poetry is poetry ... new meanings begin, new meanings defined. Meanings previously understood or meanings taken to a new 3rd dimension.

Ah, I see, my bad. It was a poem we read in class, but I can't seem to find it on Google... but, "Oh bright eyes" as in "Gee, what pretty eyes". It was actually more of a nickname for somebody, like if I were to call my girlfriend, "Bright eyes."

... Am I helping?

Yes it could be ... or one of much enthusiasm or one of much intelligence, or one of much determination, or one of much interest, or one of mystery, or one of eagerness to learn, or one of ignorance but open mind ... or ... dreamy eyes .. or ... attractive ... or ... high personality ... or ... artistic & adventful/adventurous ...

...

Oh les yeux qui brillent!
Oh les yeux brillant!
Oh les yeux qui pétillent!
Oh les yeux pétillant!
Oh les beaux yeux!

Are possible translations (many other possible in french), 1 and 3 being the most on track but if you want to call your girlfriend like that, use the 2, 4 or 5
