Apologies, but this forum only supports the FrostWire version 4. For the torrent only version, please visit FrostWire Community Forums • Index page Although your comment, only the torrents vanish suggests maybe it's not FW 6 or later. We are not knowledgeable about FrostWire's torrent behavours. It might be a question of how you are opening torrent files. Directly via the site using magnet links or via .tor files? If you are opening via magnet link, then the magnet link might be failing. I noticed this as a problem with one torrent site in particular with about a 15 to 25% success rate. And your problem has all the hallmarks of a failed magnet link download! If possible, try to first download the torrent file (.tor) and open that file with FW. (If that torrent site does not offer .tor downloads, see if you can find a mirror site also hosting the same torrent. Some torrent sites will have a page or section showing mirror sites for a particular torrent.) I just tried opening a torrent file (.tor) downloaded from a torrent site and no problem starting the torrent download, although it took a few minutes. Another appears to have no seeds (these torrent (.tor) files were over 2 years old.) If you are using FrostWire 4, then hopefully you do not see a brick wall icon near the connection icon bottom left of the FW screen. |

yeah ty dude i didn't know it was for 4.0 ..so o downloaded it and my connection failed.. I have a t3 or higher and my firewall as enabled it to go thru just not connecting to the fw site as for 6.7 fw my torrent files i use are not from the torrent sights like kat ..ect i just click on the name in the search windows as they come up and when they go to the transfer window they disappear and i can't see how long the transfer will take or anything...Yesterday I removed all the torrent files from my user in windows and from the torrent files under program files and moved the filed i had downloaded to another hard drive turned on fw and went to library and deleted all that was there and restarted fw and the files kept on downloading. putting a fresh downloaded files back on the other hd.. so again i exit fw and did all the same thing and again it started dowloading the files again only did i say screw this and uninstalled fw did the torrents stopped downloading after a reinstall... so if ya can help me why my connection with 4.0 seems to fail let me know ty again for your time |

I'm not experienced enough with using FW for torrents. I opened FW 4.21, did a torrent search, received 3 results. When I double-clicked one of the results, the torrent site opened. But, the torrent automatically started downloading anyway. (Torrent search results) . . . . (Opened Torrent site options) (Torrent downloading) . . . . (Torrent seeding) In your case, the download is failing for some reason. In your FrostWire downloads folder should be a torrent folder. Do you see .tor or .torrent files inside? (File extensions might be set to be hidden on your OS.) If yes and if FW is the default for torrents you could potentially double-click the torrent file to try to get FW restarting the torrent. Are you seeing a brick wall on your FrostWire? The connection icon to the far left is of no relevance to torrents, only for connecting to the gnutella network. Quote:

it downloads, just fails to stay in the transfer window so i can't see how long it will take or how many seeds it's using..I can't cancel it or pause it.. Can't see how long it will take nothing it disappears as soon as it goes down to the transfer window..ect.. I say to u download and install fw on a 2nd drive and you will see what i mean |

Lol i did that cleared them from the Torrents from Library only after i had to close down fw cause it kept saying files were still being used. so I exit fw and went to the other folders under users and cleared that and under program windows and fw and cleared then one from that one too and when i logged back into fw the downloads were started over again and i couldn't removed them from the library again.. so i went and uninstalled fw again 6.7 doesn't have a download cancel button in options only on the transfer window and if you can not see the downloads in that window you can't cancel them see in 4.0 they have a incomplete folder where all the partial downloads go in case you have to exit fw. 6.7 nope they decided to just add it to ur user folder.so after i cleaned out it like three times, this was after my download was completed but still hidden under the transfer windows "only way i could cancel it" was to exit fw and delete all the torrent links thru the user folder and programs folder under fw..something was telling it to download the same 22 gig of files i just already downloaded and since i couldn't see the files being transferred cause they disappeared from the transfer window i had to exit and uninstall 6.7 inorder for it to stop downloading the same files over and over and over and over....Only certain torrents from these site seem to have the problem ..KAT Extratorrent TBA BTJunkie which u can't get to the site using fw all it does now opens up a msdos window...it's a pain in the *** hope they fix it soon cause i really really hate Imesh Last edited by Orphus; April 15th, 2015 at 04:14 AM. |

If you wish to stop sharing the file, simply right-click the file listed in Library/Shared Files and choose Stop Sharing File. hmm, odd, I went to the actual downloaded file listed in Library and it apparently was not being shared. I needed to right-click the file and choose Share File. The file was coloured red and after choosing Share it turned dark grey. |
