First thread! Welcome to the FrostWire forum. |
Keep up the good work ;) |
Interesting, when will a release date be? |
1-2 weeks from now |
w00t! lol:D |
:) Great news! With you all the way on this new venture. Can't offer anything in the way of development, but will endeavour to be of help to forum users. :D |
i just released a pre-beta installer (FrostWireWin 4.9.30 Pre-Beta.exe) for window users as a test... real beta versions are expected soon. Test it here: >>Link Removed: A beta should be available soon.<< PLEASE NOTE: There is still alot to change with the FrostWire code itself, especially the themes and messagebundles. This build is only to test the installer. If you have any problems with the installer, please let me know. |
shhhhhhhhhhhhh...quiet..listen..do you hear it? that distintive sound of beavers working through the night...lololol |
shouldnt the forum name be "FrostWire (Cross Platform)" like the others? since it is java.. |
I thought FrostWire was better than FrostWire (Cross Platform) thingy. I mean, people know that when they visit forums. But for consistency, I'll ask M. Administrator aka LODR so he changes that.... Ciao |
Hi, Will FrostWire be a straight windows proggy or will a linux version be made in the future? |

Well done and all the best Thank you for your efforts on behalf of my freedom hitbit |
Good luck on the new venture. I have no skills to offer unfortunately, except laughing as Lord explains for 4,328th time that dl a 851.7kb file is not a smart thing to do. |
I agree--many of us have "no skills," but can help with the questions from users who upgrade. This will give the coders time to do the real work ;) Welcome. |
We will also need a lot of help maintaining and completing the FrostWire website. We should offer a very complete documentation of the client, answering most of the questions that are usually asked here. Many questions here are asked multiple times because it is not always easy to find the answers your looking for using the search function. The wiki we are using on frostwire.com will offer us an easily navigatable/extendable interface for people having trouble with the software. |
I am guessing that since it is based on LimeWire allot of the problems/questions are going to be the same. I will help however I can I wish I could have gotten ultracross beta before the link was removed and done some testing on it and maybe had a jump on figuring out the best setup for FrostWire. Are you going to have a change log of features added or fixed from the LimeWire version. And which version of LimeWire is it based on if any at all. |
It will always be based pretty much on the latest LimeWire version. No features have been added so far, but we will disable the filtering as soon as LimeWire enables it - which may still be some time away. |
