hello all, have had frost for a while and can't seem to get upto turbo, had no problem with limewire, but had to check back a minute ago, and yes there was turbo on lw, why can't i get to turbo on frostwire, any help,

Salut, you'll get Turbo on FW only if you are ultrapeer (UP) contrary to LW Pro where you can also be Turbo on leaf state. But since being UP brings less results, you should really only worry about being connected. An excellent connection status is all you'll ever need.

Supposedly the "turbo" rating only means that one has greater than three conections to hosts (correct if wrong, plz). According to my research on the gnutella network protocol, three are sufficient, and with improvements in the offing, it is said that only one will be enough. Whether or not the improvements I read about are still scheduled for implementation, I do not know, since the document I had was somewhat dated (c. 2003?). FWIW, I have noticed no significant decrease in hits switching fro LWPro to FW due to reduced hosts connections (this only amounted to a decrease of 2 to 3 anyway).

FW does like LW basic, 3 UP connections as leaf VS 5 for Pro, but since LW might die soon, all users switching to FW will get the same results when that happens, for the benifit of the Gnet network health.

We are NOT gonna increase to 5 UP connections, this would decrease performance for everybody in the end.
