I purchased a copy of frostwire because the site I went to, was given a thumbs up in a webreview. I later found out that frostwire is actually free, or is it?. What made me perplexed further though, is the fact that I was promised all the bells and whistles such as burning cd's/dvd's, software to do all kinds of great things, and guides. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do any of that because frostwire is just a downloading window! as I discovered. With no special functions to do anything else other than download files. I may be missing something; Could some one help out.? I just want a good site to be able to get Music/Movies...thanks ya'll

I'm receiving twenty emails of scammed users per day over the FW gmail account right now, meaning that much, much more are scammed. Scam business is a gold mine, let me tell you that. That's why I encourage scammed users to fill FBI complaint in the sticky thread of this forum.

Just curious but is it possible to block the scam sites from the official download site since some of the scam web site addresses are known. Although I do realize these sites would just probably make there own download page at least it might make it a little more difficult for them.

But this may be a little impractical to implement even if possible.

hehe, I played the spy in one of those scam websites and they have their own servers with the FW installers, we can't do anything about it.

Thanks all for being honest with this. The site I went to is called "MYMUSICINC.COM" I went to a site called (actually I think I was linked there somehow) "WEBREVIEWS.ORG". On there is a list of these online music/movies sites. So, I picked MYMUSICINC
I was sold by the "review"..It sounded like heaven!

Thinking about it, the whole thing is a scam, webreviews.org not withstanding. Anyone Know if my money is recoupable? Also, HOW does frostwire really work? I hope I'm not asking too much...but what is a sticky? thanks for all the tips!

For a start, you can complain to the fraud section of your credit card company & explained you were scammed.

Stickys are listed at the top of each section of the forum. These have answers to over 90% of everything that's asked on the forum. They are threads (posts) that have already answered popular questions.

FrostWire is FREE, in the same way as LW Basic is free. The people who work on FW are dedicated volunteers (like us forum members) who have contributed to LW's development in the past.
