javaw.exe 100% usage

I was reading other posts about 100% system usage but didn't see my specific problem. I was using FrostWire fine earlier and then it started using 100% of resources. I even restarted and tried and can't even get it to search. It seems it is javaw.exe causing it. Is this related to all the other problems I read about FrostWire? Thanks.

using 4.10.5 here... it certainly seems to be capricious about when it takes 100% cpu usage, but have at least been able to restore system functionality by using ATM to cut the priority of the hog thread to something less than Normal. Still the FW window isnt updated very well. Sometimes it behaves just fine; others it just bogs everything down. Oh well, we await the fixes.

Workaround, and a Question

[Edit: man I'm really on the ball... posting the same thing... Deleting parts that are duplicates....]

For peeps on XP, just use Task Manager. For peeps on 98/ME find ATM (Another Task Manager) on the web, and do the same thing.

So much for that; now the question: what's the BeanShell for? :-)
Looks similar to a Linux console prompt. What can ya do with it?

The problem is the skin!!! It's a slow process, but you can manage a minute of waiting to fix this.

Go to view -> apply skin -> Frostwire Skin

and tada! I'm so glad it works fast again. The bug must be in the new interface.

didn't work for me

I was also using the older version. 4.9.37 so maybe that helped also. Try downgrading and then changing your skin.

Any news on the next release? I currently don't have FrostWire installed at all, as I am waiting on this release that has the fix.

sorry, its a public account and anyone with bugmenot can edit the post. I didn't put that

I'm using frostwire just fine with the new version. just for fun I put it back on "windows theme" and it was laggy again. Switched back to Frostwire theme, works like a charm.

It must be a local problem then.

Also, if people are having problems changing themes, then it must be a problem with LimeWire's code because we have not touched that code. We naturally will only fix bugs that we introduce with our own code so our code base versions do not become incompatible with each other. Only under certain conditions will we fix the LimeWire code so as not to be incompatible with our own. Patches may also be sent to limewire, too. When LimeWire fixes a bug, the fix is also added to FrostWire.

If you find that you have the same problems with FrostWire as you do with LimeWire while using the most up-to-date versions of both, please report the problems to LimeWire.
