Default What's the difference between FrostWire and LimeWire?

Is FrostWire like a bit faster than LimeWire Basic? Can anyone tell me the differences between both clients?

Frostwire is pretty much identical to the nagware (free) version of limewire, varies slightly as build versions are released at different times.

With Frostwire you get 4 Ultrapeers; with Limewire Basic you get three.
With Limewire Chat and Freeloaders are not functional. You can chat on Frostwire.
Frostwire shows turbocharged. Limewire Basic does not.

Otherwise, as far as I can tell, they are basically the same.

I have one question. How would Frostwire be different to Limewire Pro?

I currently use LImewire Pro, but I may switch to frostwire.

Pro allows searches to go a bit further and downloads to use just a few more hosts when possible.

FrostWire is administered separately, and is pretty much the same as the Free LW. I recall some work to improve Chat and the the appearance of FW which you may prefer.

One starts with L & the other with F

One has 8 letters & the other 9.

There's a story behind the beginning of FrostWire. It as feared LW would sell out like BearShare did during the court cases. It has not happened yet. So initially FW started out as a clone. And whilst it is pretty much the same, FW has added a different type of chat & some other things. Not all I'd particularly agree with IMHO. eg: Attempting to undermine LW Pro, despite they get most of their code from the LW.org. But there's also a few limitations with FW compared with LW Basic. Not sure why. Perhaps to save themselves time programming. FW's best programmer left them unfortunately & another joined the LW programming team.
