Frostwire won't stay up! I have just installed FrostWire 4.10.9 on my Mac G5 (dual 2 gig, 2 gig RAM, OS 10.3.9). Though it works fine while it's running, it has a tendency to just quit...sometimes after 15 minutes, sometimes after 2 hours...there seems to be no rhyme or reason, it just does. I'd like to leave it up and stay connected to the network, but the software won't cooperate...what am I to do? |
Can you run the Activity monitor while FW is running and keep a note of the Real and Virtual Memory every so often. Have you run previous versions of Limewire or Frostwire? Which version of Java do you have (Frostwire>About Frostwire) I am assuming you get a message "Frostwire has unexpectedly quit....." Or....... is it just disconnecting? |
Java 1.4.2_09 Yup, I get the ole "FrostWire unexpectedly quit" message. Sure, I'll run the Activity Monitor. Currently, it sez I'm using about 86 meg of real memory and 585 meg of "virtual". I'll leave FrostWire open until it quits...I'm currently editing, and have FCP 4.5, Photoshop 8, Reader 7 and Safari open. |
replied...did I understand you (I'm a sophisticated user, but no techie...)? Send a new PM. |
